During World War II, Jim served as an airframe fitter in the Royal Australian Air Force. And after demobilization, trained and graduated as a Physical Therapist in Victoria. With over forty years experience behind him treating a range of orthopaedic and neurological conditions, Jim can safely say he's seen it all. His clinical experience includes seven years with two AFL clubs (Essendon and Footscray), as well as being contracted to some forty other smaller football clubs. He also treated Victorian track and field athletes during the 50's and 60's. Additionally, he served as Secretary for the Victorian Massage and Physiotherapy Association for twelve years - during which time he organised the appointments of therapists to visiting Olympic Teams at the 1956 Melbourne Games. Jim produced his first electrotherapy machine in 1951 - and a long series of improved devices have followed over the years. The most famous of these advances has been the BioStim range - to which these web pages are dedicated. Since 1971, some 100,000+ units have been sold in Australia and internationally. Jim is always thinking of the future, his mind always inventing new and better devices. One of his biggest regrets is that at 75 years of age, time is running out - he has too many great ideas, and not enough time! Jim is always looking to teach and inform of the fantastic benefits of electrical therapy. Hopefully, this site goes some way to helping him accomplish that task. |
