User Profile One From a letter written to Bio Electronics by Mrs. B, of Western Australia. "After giving birth to five children and being a farmers wife involved in heavy manual labour, I have for some years suffered with stress incontinence. Being in my mid-fifties, I accepted this as being normal deterioration. It became necessary for me to undergo interior and posterior surgical repair. Six weeks after surgery the surgeon recommended me to a physiotherapist. It was recommended that I perform regular 'squeeze - hold - relax' exercises a number of times every day. My physiotherapist introduced me to the BioStim Incontrol muscle stimulator. Prior to starting the program recommended with the Incontrol, my physiotherapist measured the strength of my bladder muscles. The reading was 0.5. At this stage I was still wearing protective pads and I was not confident of taking fluids without being in close proximity to a lavatory. I followed the Incontrol program for the recommended six weeks, and the situation steadily improved until I was in complete control of my bladder. I was once again monitored and the reading was 5.61. I was then instructed to complete further exercises, numerous times during the day, but I gradually felt my muscles deteriorating. At this stage I hired the Incontrol again. I was also told to routinely exercise for the rest of my life to avoid further surgery. It was then that I decided to purchase an Incontrol so that I could use it whenever it was convenient. I thoroughly recommend Incontrol to any age group of women. A big thankyou to the inventors of Incontrol." She
goes on to add, "I haven't needed the Incontrol
for 12 months, as I can now exercise by myself and am no longer incontinent.
Thank you again." User Profile Two Name: Mrs. R. Age: 84 Occupation: Retired Which BioStim do you use: The Incontrol model. Would you recommend it to others, and why?: Yes. It's the only way to really learn to do pelvic floor exercises. Others say 'Do it', and don't say how. Mine are so weak they had to be strengthened before I could do it. Comments: After seeing specialists and having bladder stretches I was at a loss for improvement and the machine gave confidence and gave the results I was looking for. User Profile Three Name: Mrs. K. Age: 11 Occupation: Primary School student. Which BioStim do you use?: Sportsmed (with external electrodes) Why do you use it?: Bedwetting and daytime lack of control. Results: Used to wet the bed 5 - 6 nights out of 7, and now rarely does after 3 months of daily treatment. Would you recommend it to others, and why?: Yes. "Cause it helps." "Makes me confident." Comments: "Really good improvement" - Miss K's mother. User Profile Four Name: Mr. L. Age: 68 Occupation: Retired. Which BioStim do you use?: Sportsmed (with external electrodes) Why do you use it?: Lack of control after prostate surgery - severe leakage. Results: Much improved urinary control, after 3 months of daily treatment for 1 - 1.5 hours per session. Would you recommend it to others, and why?: Yes. "Cause it helps." "Makes me confident." Comments: Yes. "I'm really happy with the result of the treatment." |
