The
Versatile Analgesic+2
For
some reason, the Analgesic+2 seems to generate more confusion than any
other product in our range. Subsequently, we receive regular queries
about its function and application, everything from: How is the Analgesic+2
different to the others? Is it better to have two output channels? Is
it stronger than the Analgesic? And so on. We hope this goes some way
to clarifying the uses of this versatile machine.
Treating
Two Areas Concurrently
Clearly
the most obvious advantage of the Analgesic+2 is that with two output
channels, it is possible to treat two areas at the same time. This is
of particular benefit to those who suffer arthritis in multiple joints
- as it saves a great deal of time by allowing more than just a single
joint to receive therapy at once. This feature is also a great advantage
for those with concurrent neck and back pain, as well as those with
back and sciatic pain. So, on this level at least, the Analgesic+2 offers
benefits based on convenience.
Treating
Large Areas of Pain
The
Analgesic+2 is unique in its ability to treat very large and diffuse
areas of pain, as it offers four points of contact through two electrodes
on each of two channels. It has been used successfully by those with
diffuse abdominal pain following intestinal surgery, by those with full
length back pain from the neck to the sacrum, and by those with long
and painful surgical incision scars.
Both
Channels on the Area of Pain
The
Analgesic+2 is the only machine in the BioStim range that offers
this application. It is recommended for particularly severe pain of
a well defined origin. For example - lumbar disc bulge, frozen
shoulder, fractured rib, sprained knee, etc. Also, for bruises, muscle
tears and ligament damage it is the treatment of choice.
By
encircling a single area of pain with four electrodes, both pain relief
and rate of healing are improved. In this sense, the Analgesic+2 has
a distinct advantage over the single channel Analgesic machine - although
technically it is no stronger in terms of its power output.
Channel
1 on the Area of Pain - Channel 2 on a Zone of Maximum Sensory Perception
Only
the Analgesic+2 can allow this excellent approach to injury therapy
and pain management. By putting two electrodes to work at the origin
of the pain and the other pair of electrodes over the wrists or on the
earlobes - localized healing is taking place and endorphin release is
improved. This can be an advantage in almost any type of pain management,
including migraine, period pain, arthritis, sporting injury, lower back
pain and so on.
Both
Channels on Zones of Maximum Sensory Perception
By
placing one pair of electrodes on the wrists and the other on the earlobes,
the release of endorphins is maximized. This can be a particularly useful
approach for pain that affects multiple body parts or particularly large
regions. For example: multi-joint arthritis, fibromyalgia, widespread
contusions, and diffuse pain from internal organs, etc..
Maximizing
Sedation
For
those who wish to get the most out of their relaxation or sleep inducing
sessions, apply electrodes to both wrists and both earlobes and set
the BioStim to the appropriate frequencies. (See: Insomnia &
Relaxation).
Notes
for the professional:
Multi-joint
Treatment
- The Analgesic+2 offers the clinician the ability to treat two joints
at the same time with the convenience of a portable machine. Highly
suited for use with athletes track-side at training sessions and sporting
competitions.
Multi-point Acupuncture - With
specialized 4-to-1 acupuncture leads, the Analgesic+2 can be attached
to 8 needles simultaneously - with obvious benefits.
Ultimate Relaxation Massage -
While the patient is positioned for a standard oil massage, the Analgesic+2
can be stimulating through both earlobes and both wrists at sedative
frequencies.
